The lessons of this book seem pretty straight-forward, but that doesnt take away any of the power.

Here is a short overview of the most important lessons:

  1. Save at least 1/10 of your monthly earnings
  2. Let your ‘gold’ ‘work for you’ a.k.a. invest your savings
  3. Opportunities come only to active man.
  4. Work hard.

The lessons are all wrapped in stories that are set in ancient Babylon, ‘the richest city of history’. In this frame story, the lessons are being brought to the reader in a very vivid way, that resonated with me very well.

The beauty of the ‘rules of gold’ are in it’s simplicity. The rules were valid when they were first being taught by the slaves, camel traders and merchants, in Babylon, 5000 years ago. And the value of these rules has been confirmed by the succes of this book over the last hundred years since it was first published.

The book immediately activated me to change some things in my both my personal and professional financial organisation.
